Here is the response I received from the NYRRC in regards to the e-mail I sent them about the Staten Island 1/2 marathon.
Dear Gene Galasso,
Thank you for your note. It is always good to hear from our members, as
it helps us to continually improve.
The Emerald Nuts Staten Island Half-Marathon course was 13.1 miles as
billed. The distance was officially certified. However, two of the mile
marks were incorrectly located. This was due to repaving of portions of
the course; our markings indicating where to place the mile marks were
lost. We apologize for this error.
