Welcome back, Sean. I think that as so often happens, the actions of a few have tainted everyone. No matter what happens with Marion Jones (if there's any way to prove she's innocent or guilty), there will still be people who will insist she is guilty by association, or as you point out, by the fact that she couldn't run as fast this year. And it's gotten so bad that the opposite also holds -- when someone runs fast, or should I say in this climate, when an American runs fast, they are immediately under suspicion. Not limited to running of course - look at all the "venom" against Lance Armstrong, many are still convinced that he's "too good to be true."
