On my recent trip to Ireland I was shocked at the venom of European media towards American athletes in light of the burgeoning drug scandals. The fact that the unbeatable Marion Jones has slipped to relative mediocrity seems to add fuel for their arguments. How deep is the damage to American athletics because of this ongoing saga? Any views?
