Just curious, what exactly is "point to point"?

Also, regarding the "whole road" thing...wouldn't
it be the OPPOSITE. THe way I understand it,
courses are measured with respect to the
distance covered if a runner cut every
curve/tangent perfectly (as if I'd ever
be capable of doing that!). So, wouldn't
having access to the WHOLE ROAD give a runner
more opportunity to take the "short side"
of a curve? If you're confined to the rec.
lane and the lane is on the outside of
the curve, you're out of luck.

Finally, it's curious that if you look on
that database that the Fifth Ave. Mile,
a race reknown beyond NYRR, is NOT listed
as a certified course.
