3 Mile Fun Run

Scott LaMorte and Tanya French recorded hard fought victories at the SIAC Fun Run Championship at cool, overcast Clove Lakes Park. The race served as the first in a series of four races honoring Steve Lauria.

LaMorte covered the three mile course in 17:07, overcoming a challenge in the first loop from second place Mike Borik (17:31). Anthony Pitarresi (17:56), A-Born Etchison (18:24) and Mario Ricca Jr. (18:26) rounded out the top five overall finishers.

French won the women's race in 19:17, like LaMorte overcoming an early challenge in the person of Gail Marino (19:54). Barbara North (21:49), Debra Mahr (22:16) and Ellen Brennan-Hearn (22:17) were third through fifth for the women.

LaMorte and North were the male and female winners of the top SIAC finisher award for the day.
