- I am producing a documentary on Fred Lebow,
founder of the NYC Marathon. W're searching for archival materials
film/video/photos of old marathons from the 70s and 80s. If you are
interested in sharing some of personal memories with us, we will make
sure to give you special credit in the film. We're looking
particularly for materials related to Fred and the earlier
marathons.

As you may have noticed over the past 10 years, there have been amateur
radio operators supporting various events with safety and logistics
communications. We are the people with the orange hats acting as split timers,
shadowing race officials, helping with set up crews, etc at races like Memorial
Day/Boardwalk Run, Al Ronaldson Run, Pepper Martin Run, SI Half Marathon,
NYC Marathon, etc. If you would like help with any other event, please feel
free to contact us. Our services are absolutely free and it provides us with
the ability to practice so that we are ready with communications in case
of another 9/11, Blackout or other emergency.
We are the NYC Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Service. We are your
neighbors. Let us help you to stage a successful event.
