SIAC
3 Mile Fun Run

December 14, 2002
by Dave Panza

Ryan McDermott and Gail Marino were the winners at the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at Clove Lakes Park. McDermott covered the three mile course in 17:34, outlasting second place Richie Orazem (17:42). Dave Michaels (18:54), Scott LaMorte (18:59), and Daniel Bisceglie (20:07) rounded out the top five overall.

Marino won the women's race in 21:15, followed by Christine Connelly (22:18). Gabriella Annetta (26:54), Lisa Rigolini (27:34) and Ruth Fairbrother (30:23) were third through fifth, respectively.

Ryan McDermott won a stirring duel with Richie Orazem, with the final lead change occurring on the uphill leading to the finish. Gail Marino turned back a strong challenge from 9-year old Christine Connelly in winning the women's race. The small field braved damp, rainy conditions today, and it was good to see Bobby Orazem and Jimmy Russo on the course again, but neither signed their time. Still, welcome back, guys!
