Stephen Hook and Jacqui Mahoney were the winners of the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at Clove Lakes Park. Hook covered the three-mile course in 17:46, outlasting Robert Simeone (18:07) and Vin Stasi (18:09). David Michaels (18:59) and Gene Galasso (19:04) rounded out the top five overall.

Mahoney was the women's winner in 21:57, with Lissy Binder second in 23:17. Erica Michaels (26:44), Lisa Rigolini (26:54) and Gabriella Annetta (27:26) were third through fifth.

The weather at Clove Lakes was brisk but not as cold as Thanksgiving, thankfully. A large contingent from the St. Joseph by the Sea track team, including coach Jim Salerno, ran today's race, with Robert Simeone and Vin Stasi challenging eventual winner Steve Hook but falling short. Steve has been running very well of late, and was never in danger of losing this one.

Congrats to new SIAC member Jacqui Mahoney for joining such a fine racing team in SIAC, and oh yes, for winning the women's race today as well. Gabriella Annetta's dog Dutchess ran her first race today, with the pair finishing fifth. Maybe Ruth Fairbrother started a trend here!

Scott LaMorte dropped out of the race early on due to poor fitting racing shoes, then wrested the bullhorn from Mark Vogt for play-by-play race commentary. Scottie is preparing for a career in broadcasting for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

And yes, we had a Bobby Guidera sighting at the Marli Race Thursday, but no sign of him today, to the dismay of the autograph seekers who flocked to today's Fun Run in great anticipation. While Bobby has not been seen in these parts for awhile, Bobby told me that he sees Trail Dog everywhere he goes (supermarkets, etc.) Go figure!
