NYRROA will certainly write a strongly worded piece about the travesty that is this race--and make sure it's also sent to USAT&F and the International Marathon Association (along the lines of if NYRRC can't get this right, how do you know the NYC marathon course is accurate), but I strongly suggest that runners band togerther, flood the NYRRC e-mail boxes with their displeasure about this race, get other clubs in other parts fo the area to the same, write snail mail letters, make phone calls, and show up in force to complain about this at the next Club Council meeting. And make sure you send any communications to the members of the NYRRC Board of Directors as well.
I am afraid that the only thing that may get the NYRRC to move on this is the implication that runners will stay away in droves--it's all about the numbers and the money.
