I was also deeply saddened to hear about Mary Conry, as were many of her "Tortoise" teammates (the women's running team of the 90's, alas, now defunct). Mary was not only an active participant in most of our club gatherings and outings to off-island races (and also encouraging her then-young son and daughter to join in the youth activities), she was also one of the most dedicated members that we had, volunteering her time at every race above and beyond the call of duty. (I remember that we used to always order a few "small" size shirts, just to make sure that we had one that fit her -- as she was such a diminutive woman). Mary was also a good listener, and we had many good conversations ("on the run", of course), many of them about parenting in the days when I was still waiting to become a mother. My heart goes out to her family, especially her children.
