I wouldn't think the feasability of scoring for a club in a team race is a really good criterion for joining one.
If you are undecided, interview officers/members of both clubs (and there are others on SI, such as Team High Rock, Gateway, and the Stapleton Athletic Club) and decide which would be the best fit for you based on club purpose, programs, social amenities, and other factors. If there's not a good fit, you can search for clubs off-Island, or even decide not to join one at all (plenty of people have exercised those options, too).
