An Open Letter:
I just wanted to extend my deepest appreciation and thanks to all of you who donated shoes to the SIAC's Charitable Shoe Drive for Tanzania Africa. The number of shoes donated through your efforts at the Fun Runs and at our St. Paddy's Day race, last Saturday, has netted EIGHTY SIX pairs of shoes for the needy in Tanzania.
I am overjoyed by the response of this first ever shoe drive, and look forward to many more. If you missed out and/or still have extra shoes laying around, feel free to continue to bring them to any Fun Run that you attend. As they accumulate, they'll get mailed out to the same village. Those Tanzanian runners will know the name "Staten Island" very well because of all of you.
