Every morning we watch the Weather Channel before we leave. Rain was due at
about 3 p.m., so we left a little earlier in order to put in as much mileage as we could
before the arrival of the rain. However, the rain was a no show. It was a bright, sunny,
hot day. No allies for Lou today -- not a tree, cloud or shade from the sun from start to
finish. Needless to say, they both stuck to their guns.

Lou continued to pound away at the concrete ground with a short break of about 10
miles of a tar shoulder. We caught a glimpse of A1A, although the holiday is over, the
traffic is still heavy there, so we decided to continue on Route 1 until we get to
Melbourne.

We received a call from the sunrunners of Vero Beach, they are interested in
meeting us and running with us through Vero Beach. The company would be nice.

I must tell you the sign on the truck (Running to Beat Breast Cancer ) has a
huge impact here. After gassing up the truck, I was on line to pay for the
gas and a man on line in front of me asked me if I was running or driving to
Miami. I explained that there was a man out running amd that I would catch up
to him to make sure he had water. He said, then you go ahead of me, because it is so
hot out there, I'm sure that he needs some water now. Then everyone on line
in front of me told me to go in front of them -- there were about 5 or 6 people
in front of me on line. I thought it was a nice gesture.

It was too hot to be outside, however the waves continued from the air
conditioned cars as well as looks of amazement from construction workers
on the road.

Mileage for the day is 41. The rain finally showed up at 9 p.m.

Until tomorrow, that's all folks!!!

Love Lou & Agnes

P.S. Lou wants everyone to know that it is he that is inspired by all the
e-mail and the messages in the forum. It is the fuel that keeps him going (that and
the pancakes).
