Ran through the town of Manning, "known for its hospitality and beauty".
It actually was a nice little town, very clean with friendly and courteous
people. There was also an abundance of shade trees for Lou in the town.
Started out at 9:30am with a nice cool breeze. The combination of the breeze,
the shade and the low temperature, made the first 20 miles seem easy. We now
are past the 700 mile mark. We haven't lost a bit of passion and our spirits
are high.

Once we hit the town of Santee, we picked up Route 15, but it still looks like
301. While waiting for Lou at a waterstop, a woman saw him running, then she saw
our truck, and she pulled up behind me. She told me that she recently lost her mother to
breast cancer and that a friend of hers has a lump in her breast. The lump was the size of
a nickel last month and now it's the size of a quarter. I hope that I was able to convince
her to take her friend for proper treatment.

Lou always says, you can lead a horse to water but you can"t force him to
drink. Now I really understand that statement, although it does not apply
here. The information is available but it is not being delivered. Sometimes
it seems like they are not even leading the horse, they are just letting him
go thirsty.

We are six miles out of St. George, South Carolina. Mileage for today, 36.5.
Found an Italian restaurant and had a good pasta meal.

Regards to all.
Love Lou and Agnes
