It's been a long day, we headed out early to do some chores. We had to
buy supplies (H2O, Powerade and watermelon) and did the laundry first.
Early temperature was fairly favorable, and it didn't get really hot until about
4 p.m., when it went up to to 92 degrees.

Lou felt good today. All was calm until Routes 301 and 76 merged. Somehow we missed
each other on a waterstop, North and South were divided and Lou was running against
the traffic. I noticed that the traffic was heavy up ahead with a speed limit of 60 mph
and there wasn't a shoulder. I drove up the hill looking for another place to wait for a
waterstop, but I had to drive 5 miles until there was one. You don't know how scared
I was for Lou's safety, trying not to fear the worst,. I turned around to make sure
that he was all right. As I drove past him, I saw that he was okay and still moving,
but at a faster pace. I noticed something awesome, the truckers were forcing
the traffic over to the left lane of the 2 lane road, giving Lou the right
lane to run on. They were doing this way before Lou was even in sight.
I guess that they are still communicating about the runner on the road. Finally
when I made him a waterstop, he found me almost in tears. What a sigh of
relief it was to see the "bopping Q-tip" making its way towards me (Lou and his
hat).

After that incident, Lou had his own lane and shade trees for about 10 miles or
so. We have made it to Florence, South Carolina. Mileage for today was 38. I've
increased my gray hairs by about 20.

Last night at the waffle house in Dillon, the cook made us huge and delicious
omelettes and pecan waffles, and she said, "Now go beat cancer" with a beautiful
smile on her face.

Long day, got to get some rest and hair color.

Thanks guys, Love Lou and Agnes

P.S., Thanks Truckers!!!!!!!!!!!
