We started out at 9:15 today, but it was still hot, although not a cloud in the sky.
By 12:40, it was 84 degrees, and it eventually worked its way up to 92.

Lou got an early 13 miles in, but the rest was hard because he had to run in a
brand new pair of sneakers. He got a new pair of New Balance, because Nike
got a flat....the Nike trail shoes were retired at 328 miles, and they slept outside
most of the time.

We were approached today by a corrections officer who thanked us for what we were
doing and instead of saying good luck, he said he would say a prayer for us.
We were also approached by a man who was going to a local plumbing store (one of
our water stops) and was curious as to what we were doing. His response was
that this was a good cause, and he accepted our information flyer, saying that he also
would send in a donation.

Guess what? We passed south of the border. we are officially in South Carolina,
in Dillon County. Route 301 and I-95 became one for a short while, so Lou
owes 8 miles that were driven, because pedestrians are not allowed to run on
the interstate. "Easy" day today, actual mileage run was 30.

So far south carolina has no shoulders on 301, and they haven't mowed the lawn
either. This is truly a thin white line. When Lou talks to people, he tells them that
when he started out running he was six feet tall. Down here some people believe him.

Hope we meet someone from the American Cancer Society soon. 7 states down and
3 to go. Please keep the forum alive, it's reassuring that you guys have our back.

Thanks, to be continued, see ya.

Love Lou and Agnes

P.S. For those of you who were wondering, F-troop is a group of Lou's friends,
That's what they call themselves, a Pan American maintenence crew that he worked with
for a billion years.
