First, I forgot to tell you something yesterday. We met a drifter, he was also traveling
to North Carolina; that is home for him. He had been visiting his sister in Philly.
He was traveling a little slow due to his big backpack. We exchanged hellos and
we shared lunch with him. So now there's 3 nuts on 301. Virginia was a long haul,
but the hills were less on 301.

Today, it was a long day for everyone. My daughter, Lindsay felt ill and opted to go home. So we drove to the airport to send her home, 2 hour drive to and 2 hour drive
back. So we spent 4 hours driving, but it gave us the opportunity to see Route 1.
We found Route 1 again, but we would not be able to run on it because
it is part of an interstate -- no pedestrians are allowed on an interstate. So we got a
late start running. We returned to the original stop point on 301 and continued
from there.

It was hot & sunny, 97 degrees. it was difficult starting in the afternoon,
after acclimating to the morning runs. Lou was only able to run 4 hours, 26 miles
today because it was getting late and we needed to have time to eat. So I
guess, we can call this an easy day. We are about 20 or so miles from Rocky
Mount.

It is getting difficult to find places for water stops, so we have to run
longer before getting water. For those that are wondering about Lou's diet -
Ensure works, fresh fruit (watermelon), Powerade, and anything he can get his hands on.
No red meat.

Until tomorrow.

Love Lou and Agnes
