We started out at 9:30 a.m. The weather is sunny and hot, it hit 87 degrees.
Arrived in Petersburg by 10:30.

Oops, we all did it this time. We lost Route 1, and now we are on Route 301.
Might as well stay here until we hit North Carolina. We'll work our way west
to make the stop at Duke University, then we'll head east to try and catch Route 17
after Fayetteville.

Lou is boasting about his new tan, even he's amazed. Route 301 is along I-95.
Shade is easily described as "none". Hey Joe, Lou took your advice and ran on
the grass…however, you neglected to say anything about gopher holes. Ground: one,
Lou: none. No scrapes, no bruises, no bumps -- I didn't even get to use my first aid kit.

Yet another survivor approached us today. She has been cancer free for 25 years now
and she applauds our efforts.

Lou says the dreaded demons are approaching. He still fights them with the
thought of Lauren and other young children not having to experience cancers
like the ones we have to deal with. He believes that if this nation made a
strong concentrated effort, we could defeat this dreaded disease together.
So he continues one step at a time, whatever the mind can conceive, you can do...
Mileage for the day, 40 minus 0.1 for the gopher hole. We are now about 30 miles
or a little less from North Carolina.

'Til tomorrow, Love Lou and Agnes
