Started out today at 9:30 a.m. It was hot & sunny, the temperature reached 86
degrees. Lou had a fight with Mother Nature today; first it was just sunny,
then humidity crept in, and then it felt cool even though the humidity was high.
At each water stop, he felt cold. Then after the 3rd or 4th hour, the sun
just started to beat down on him, so he took his licking and kept ticking for a
total of 29.5 miles. The man would do anything for a Milkyway.

We are feeling a little tired from the bouts of weather, however the memories
of what transpired in Washington D.C. keeps us motivated to bring this dream
into reality. We've got to beat cancer. It's all about 2nd & 3rd efforts and
applying ourselves more than once.

Lou went on ahead while we went for supplies. Route 1 went left and so did
Lou; then Route 1 went right and Lou went straight. Guess who was missing in
action for 5-6 miles? After realizing he must have missed the turn, we went
back only to find him backtracking and thirsty. After pointing him in the right
direction, we let him loose again.

A man pulled up beside us and handed us coupons for free Gatorade. He said, "You
might be needing these for your long run."

"Thats it for today. Almost forgot, we placed a tag on Lou's shorts: "If found,
deliver to Route 1 South."

Love and miss everybody.

Lou and Agnes
