Started out at 10 a.m. today, it was a light mist with a heavy overcast. Temperature
was about 72 with high humidity. Lou says that he can't wait to get over this
hill work so that he can start speed work in the Carolinas.

The folks on Route 1 are getting used to seeing us, the truckers have been kind enough
to move over one lane for Lou, they must be using their CB radios. They all wave
and smile at him. Thats how we got to know the people at "K & M Auto Service".
We pulled into their station to wait for Lou as one of our water stops. I walked
over to them to ask if it was all right, because the places to stop were
getting sparser as we went along. The man smiled and said, "We know all about him
running, everyone who pulls in here told me about him, and I saw your sign on
the truck." It turns out that he also has had two bouts with cancer and has an
appointment coming up to see if it has spread to his lung. He lost his
brother to cancer also.

So there we were, all of us together waiting around for Lou to run up the hill to the
Station. Before we got there, they were actually waiting for Lou to show up because
they knew he was running Route 1 south. It was a nice feeling waiting around together.
Lou has a new best buddy, Mr. Ibuprophen. Total miles today was 40. We
are now just outside Richmond, Virginia, so we will be there in the morning.
Lou did't want to enter Richmond without shaving first.

We miss home and we miss our friends, but the battle is taking shape.
The more people we see, the more they realize they can do more.
I forgot to tell you, yesterday we pulled into a deli parking lot and parked
the truck with the sign facing the street while we waited for Lou. I went into
the store to see if they had any Powerade. The man in the store said to me,
"Miss, you can't sell your wares in this parking lot, I see you have a sign on
the truck". When I explained to him what we were doing, we all had a good
laugh.

Lou wants to know, who dropped the box of sharps on the highway...

Thanks, Love,
Lou and Agnes
