Lou decided to write today's entry:

We started today at 10 a.m., it was already 89 degrees. It was a rough day. We had to play cat and mouse with the cops. Route 1 has a freeway in a certain area, but the trooper was a good guy.

We had our first encounter on the road with a good samaritan; picture an old Lady, barely making money off selling her fruit, but she stopped and gave me 2 peaches, saying, "It is too hot to run."

We had to cross the Sussquehanna River (could not find the hat company). While taking a few minutes break at a Harley Davidson shop, a man got off his bike to stop and took some flyers. Agnes met a nice lady, who is a 24 year breast cancer survivor originally from Jersey City - a schoolteacher whose name was Joyce. She also took flyers and gave us a bag of grapes.

It hit 100 degrees, and we couldn't find much shade, so I opted to use a cold soaked towel under my hat. We are in Maryland -- I found a watch, a Confederate flag and 15 cents. Again, it is too hot out there for Agnes -- why take chances.

Mileage for the day is 30 miles. We haven't seen anyone from the American Cancer Society yet; maybe tomorrow. Wrapping your legs and knees in cold towels at night really works; so does ibuprophen. See ya.

Love, Lou and Agnes
