The Staten Island Runner

Cesare Lucido was the winner of the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at Clove Lakes Park.  A field of 50 runners took part in a special Fun Run, where the runners estimated their finish time in advance of the race, and received a head start over faster runners.

 

For instance, a runner predicting a time of 26 minutes received a head start of 3 minutes over a runner who predicted 23 minutes.  In theory, all runners should finish at exactly the same time.  It was great fun for all, and the runners also got to sample running shoes by Nike, who had set up a special booth for this race.
