3 Mile Fun Run

I hear that even the writers at the Advance get a week off every so often, so in following suit to those literary luminaries, there will be no article this week. I heard the fun run was pretty boring anyway. Luis Oyola won for the men again in 17:21 and Gail Marino, who we honored last week for years of fun run wins, added one more to the pile with a 20:43 victory. How very typical. I also noticed that Tony Celentano set a 2001 PR with a fine 24:20, not bad when you consider he will turn 70 within the year, at which time he will take every race that dares include a 70+ category. I guess that's not so typical. Anyway, before I go on to actually write an article on my week off, just remember that this Saturday (July 21) will be race #3 of the 25th Anniversary fun run series. This race will honor 1986 to 1990, so don't forget your T-shirts. Yes, I know some of the columns in the results from the first 2 races are off, but they are accurate. This is being fixed.
