TRAC continues to meet and plan for the building of the first Indoor Track & Field Facility in the history of New York City.
Selection of the site is ongoing and is expected to be announced during the summer. Several potential sites are being considered but the Borough President's office is being tightlipped about them at this time.
One of the people helping in this project is Pete Whitehouse: Pete brings over 30 years of coaching and teaching experience to TRAC. Pete is the winningist track/cross country coach in Staten Island history and was the 1997 Lou Marli Service winner. Pete's teams have won about 28 city titles and have finished in the top 5 in the New York State Cross Country Championships over 5 times.
Pete brings an organized and mature view point to this group and is one of the reasons this Track is going to happen. When you see Pete thank him for all his hard work.!!
There are currently many items of discussion and planning that will affect this facility for many years. Many of them would be hard to describe accurately in this format but are very important to this project. We invite ALL to attend the meetings to listen or contribute. The next meeting will be on WED. JUNE 28th. at 7:30 at MOORE HIGH SCHOOL. Please attend. I think you will find them interesting and informative and they only last til 9 P.M.!!

I would be happy to answer any questions about what we are doing via E-mail or by calling me at #718 442-2057.
