The excitment continues to build as Staten Island and TRAC prepares for the
building of the FIRST Indoor Track & Field
Facility in the HISTORY of New York City.
We have been working very hard with the Borough President and Parks Commisioner
on the development of this project. New details emerge almost daily on how
this will go down.
TRAC has interviewed and accepted the following three people onto our Board
of Directors:
Louis Vasquez-Director of Operations-Armory Track & Field Center
Lawrence A. Rampulla-Attorney
James F. Regan-Board of Education(Retired)
TRAC continues to interview and consider other notable community people to
lead this organization. We will complete the board with between 10-12
people.
One of the people (There are many) who has been instrumental in this project
has been Lorraine Lettieri. The Global One Executive
has brought her organizational and marketing skills and helped develop a
very professional group. Lettieri is the mother of Xavier senior Greg Lettieri
who is a four year multi event track athlete. She also has completed 2 marathons
and will serve the role of Treasurer for TRAC. We would not be in the position
we are in without her expertise. When you see her congratulate her!
Our next meeting will be on Wed. June 14th. at 7:30 at Moore High
School. EVERYONE is invited! Please come to hear what
is going on and lend a hand. If you are busy and can't obligate yourself
just stop down and hear what is developing. We would love to see you!
